Terms of Service

1. What Tala is

Tala is studio management software built by Sihaya LLC. It serves three groups of people:

  • Studio members use Tala to book classes, manage memberships, and check in.
  • Teachers use Tala to manage their schedule, availability, sub requests, and payments.
  • Studio owners use Tala to run their business: scheduling, payments, member management, and analytics.

Tala is software. We are not a studio, not an employer, and not a payment processor. Payments between members and studios flow through the studio's own Stripe account. Tala facilitates but never holds your money.

2. Your Tala account

One Tala account works across all studios on the Tala network. If you take classes at multiple studios, you use a single login, a single set of payment methods, and one unified history.

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You can delete your account at any time. We will anonymize your personal data and make an export available for 90 days.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

3. For members

This section applies if you use Tala to book classes, manage your membership, or check into a studio.

  • Your Tala account works across all studios on the Tala network. When you join a new studio, your name and account travel with you.
  • You control your data. No studio sees your information from another studio without your explicit consent. You choose what to share with each studio.
  • Payment methods are stored securely via Stripe. Tala never sees your full card number. Studios may charge you directly for classes, memberships, and drop-ins through their own Stripe account.
  • Your booking history, attendance records, and practice stats belong to you. You can export your data or delete your account at any time.
  • Your public practice profile (withtala.com/practice/your-name) is optional and entirely opt-in. You control what is visible.
  • Tala does not charge members. Any fees you pay go directly to the studio you are a member of.

4. For teachers

This section applies if you use Tala to manage your teaching schedule, availability, or sub requests.

  • Your Tala account is yours and follows you across every studio you teach at. You control your availability, certifications, and profile.
  • Your public teaching profile (withtala.com/from/your-name) is optional and opt-in. You control what is visible.
  • Sub requests, your class schedule, and payment history are visible to you through your teacher portal.
  • Studios you teach at can see your availability and class history at their studio. They cannot see your activity at other studios unless you opt in.
  • Teachers are engaged by studios, not by Tala. Tala provides the tools. Your working relationship, compensation, and schedule are between you and the studios you teach at.

5. For studio owners

This section applies if you use Tala to manage your studio.

  • These terms cover your use of the Tala software. For billing, data ownership, and your full contract with Sihaya LLC, see the Studio Service Agreement.
  • You are responsible for your studio's compliance with local laws, your relationships with members, and your relationships with teachers.
  • You can manage multiple studios from one owner account.

6. Privacy and data

See our full Privacy Policy for details. The short version:

  • We don't sell your data. We don't use it to train AI models.

  • Booking confirmations and cancellations
  • Sub coverage requests and confirmations
  • Payment and billing updates
  • System and account notifications

Message frequency varies based on your role and studio activity.

  • Reply HELP for support information.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Acceptable use

Use Tala for running a legitimate studio business, managing your teaching practice, or participating as a studio member. Don't use it for anything illegal, don't try to break our systems, don't abuse the API, and don't use it to spam people. We'll ask you to stop before we cut access, unless it's egregious.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you disagree, you can cancel your account.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. Disputes will be resolved through good-faith conversation first, then binding arbitration in Wyoming if necessary.
