Terms of Service

The short version
Tala is studio management software built by Sihaya LLC. You pay $1 per active member per month. No contracts. Cancel anytime. You own your data. That's the deal.
1. What Tala is
Tala provides scheduling, member management, payments, analytics, and related tools for yoga, pilates, and wellness studios. We host the software. You use it to run your studio.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per studio. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.
3. Pricing and billing
- Cost: $1 per active member per month. An “active member” is anyone with a current membership or class pack who attended at least one class or made a purchase in the billing period.
- Free trial: 30 days, full access, no credit card required. After 30 days, billing starts automatically if you've added a payment method. If you haven't, your account pauses until you do.
- Billing cycle: Monthly. Billed at the start of each month for the previous month's usage.
- Payment processing: Payments from your members go through your own Stripe account. Stripe's standard fees apply. Tala does not take a cut of your revenue.
- No contracts: Month-to-month. Cancel anytime with 30 days notice.
4. Your data
Your data is yours. Studio data, member data, class history, payment records — all of it belongs to you.
- You can export your data at any time in standard formats.
- If you cancel, we'll keep your data for 90 days so you can export it. After that, it's deleted.
- We don't sell your data. We don't use it to train AI models. We don't share it with anyone except as needed to provide the service (like Stripe for payments).
5. What Tala is not responsible for
Tala is software. We don't run your studio. Specifically:
- We're not liable for how you run your business, your relationships with members, or your compliance with local laws.
- We're not responsible for disputes between you and your members.
- We don't guarantee uptime, but we work hard to keep things running and we'll be transparent when something breaks.
- Our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the last 12 months.
6. Acceptable use
Use Tala for running a legitimate studio business. Don't use it for anything illegal, don't try to break our systems, don't abuse the API, and don't use it to spam people. We'll ask you to stop before we cut access, unless it's egregious.
7. Cancellation
- You can cancel anytime from your account settings or by emailing justin@schafer.co.
- 30 days notice. We'll prorate any partial month.
- Your data stays available for 90 days after cancellation so you can export everything.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you disagree, you can cancel.
9. SMS communications
By opting in to SMS notifications during onboarding or account settings, you agree to receive operational text messages from Tala related to your studio, including:
- Scheduling alerts and class reminders
- Member notifications
- Payment and billing updates
- Sub coverage requests and confirmations
- System and account notifications
Message frequency varies based on studio activity and configuration.
- Reply STOP to cancel SMS messages at any time. Reply START to re-subscribe.
- Reply HELP for support information.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We reserve the right to modify SMS features or message types with reasonable notice.

10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, United States.
